The words “and I am coming back to you” spoken by Jesus (and recorded in Greek) in John 14:28, to His Hebrew disciples at His last supper, numerically add up to 1948 – the year that Israel, once again, became a nation state. Please see the diagram below for a detailed breakdown of the calculation and note that the Greek number tables are listed here.
The calculation uses Greek isopsephy, a system in which each letter is assigned a numerical value. Readers should verify the wording used, the numerical value assigned to each letter, and the arithmetic shown in the accompanying diagram before drawing conclusions from the total.
Interestingly, the year of the Balfour Declaration, namely 1917, is also found embedded in this poignant Greek text. Written on the 2nd November in 1917 by Lord Balfour (the Foreign Secretary of His Majesty’s Government at that time) and addressed to Lord Rothschild, this small piece of paper (A5 size) publicly stated the intention of the British Government, as approved by Cabinet, towards the formation of a Zionist state. This declaration by Lord Balfour was arguably the tangible beginning of the reestablishment of Israel as a nation in 1948.
Furthermore, the year 2026 is encoded in the verse which follows, namely John 14:29. Please refer again to the diagram below. Watchful readers may wish to consider whether the close proximity of these numerical patterns carries significance, as Jesus explains to His disciples at the Last Supper what is about to happen.
